Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Sponsors Symposium on Clostridium Difficile-Associated Disease at Infectious Diseases Society of America Annual Meeting

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Optimer Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:OPTR) today announced that the company will sponsor a symposium focused on the identification, diagnosis, and treatment challenges of Clostridium difficile-Associated Disease (CDAD), a potentially severe form of infectious diarrhea, which results in an infection of the large intestines (colon), and in some cases can cause death. The symposium will be held in conjunction with IDSA on October 4, 2007 at 8:00 a.m. PST at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina in San Diego, California.
