Columbia Laboratories, Inc. to Relocate to Boston Area

Columbia Laboratories Inc. (Nasdaq: CBRX), a maker of topical hormone products, plans to relocate operations to the Boston area to accommodate the company’s CEO and newly hired CFO, who live in the area. The company currently has about 12 employees at its current headquarters in Livingston, New Jersey. Columbia Labs will be looking to make some hires in the Boston-area, because some of the workers have chosen not to move with the headquarters. The company is still considering “several attractive pieces of real estate”, according to spokeswoman Amy Raskopf, and has not made up its mind about whether to locate in Boston, Cambridge or a more far-flung suburb. CEO Frank Condella has been commuting back and forth from Massachusetts to New Jersey for three years, and the company just hired CFO Jonathan Lloyd Jones, another local resident, who previously served in management positions at Cambridge, Mass.-based Genzyme Corp. and two privately-held biotechnology firms.
