BBVA Compass Receives Second Gold Status Health Achievement Award from American Heart Association
- BBVA Compass received its second award for its wellness program from the American Heart Association.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Heart Association recently announced the results of its 2018 Workplace Health Achievement Index, a comprehensive annual survey that uses science-based and evidence-informed methods to evaluate the overall effectiveness of workplace health programs across the nation.
The AHAs Workplace Health Achievement Index recognizes organizations bases on their total Index Score. The Index scores each organization on 55 individual best practices, organized into seven categories, including leadership, engagement, programs, policies and environment, partnerships, communications, and reporting outcomes.
More than 1,000 companies completed the Index and 75 percent scored at bronze, silver, or gold level. Only 15 percent of the organizations that participated received Gold level recognition.

BBVA Compass employees who participate in the bank's Wellthy for Life program have the opportunity to earn up to 1,000 points by selecting and participating in wellness activities, which are divided into four categories -- physical, medical, mental/social, and financial -- to help them meet their specific goals. For employees enrolled in the company health plan, each Wellthy for Life point is converted into a dollar and deposited into either their Health Savings Account or Health Reimbursement Account throughout the year.
