New jobs are coming to Alleghany County. Balchem Corporation announced Monday morning that it is investing $10 million to build a plant in Alleghany County. Balchem's expansion will create 55 new jobs in Alleghany Couny over the next two to three years. Twenty of the new jobs will be created in the first year of the expansion, with the rest coming within two to three years. Balchem makes encapsulated ingredients for health products and animal nutrition. In a news release Governor McDonnell, cited Alleghany County's proximity to Interstates 64 and 81 for a reason Balchem chose Alleghany County.
