Jose Santoro Named General Manager Of VITAS Innovative Hospice Care Of New Jersey North

LIVINGSTON, N.J., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Jose Santoro has been named general manager of VITAS Innovative Hospice Care(R) of New Jersey North. VITAS' New Jersey North program serves Essex, Union, Hudson, Passaic, Bergen and Morris counties.

Santoro, who has more than 15 years of management experience in the healthcare industry, was most recently general manager for the Mid-Atlantic region of Option Care, Inc., a national infusion and specialty pharmacy services provider. Earlier in his career, Santoro served in senior sales and marketing roles at several organizations, including home infusion services companies, a health plan and a pharmaceutical laboratory. His healthcare career began in the Navy, where he served as a senior otorhinolaryngology technician, managing Navy personnel and overseeing entire clinical and surgical operations.

"Northern New Jersey represents an underserved market in terms of hospice care," said Santoro. "I'm looking forward to leading the VITAS New Jersey North program as we strive to make a positive difference in the lives of patients and families here," said Santoro.

VITAS' New Jersey North program includes pastoral care and bereavement services that extend beyond its patients and families to residents and staff members at nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The program also reaches out to the community through local churches.

A resident of the Orange area since 1988, Santoro earned both his bachelor's degree and his master of business administration degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey.
