Andor Launches Enhanced Back-Illuminated CCD Offering Superb Pixel Well Depth And Photon Collection Efficiency

Belfast, Northern Ireland, 14th September 2015 – Andor Technology (Andor), an Oxford Instruments company and world leader in scientific imaging and spectroscopy solutions, today announced the launch of the new, enhanced iKon-M 912 back-illuminated CCD camera, offering the ultimate in high dynamic range and low noise performance. The 512 x 512 CCD array with 24 µm pixels has been optimized for extremely high well depth and maximum photon collection per pixel.

The ultrasensitive camera delivers up to 95% QE, 3 e- read noise and a superb 300,000 e- pixel well depth. The iKon-M 912 also benefits from negligible dark current with industry-leading vacuum thermoelectric cooling down to -100°C, enabling use of extremely long exposure times for weak signal detection. An enhanced electronic design facilitates multiple readout speeds ranging from 50 kHz up to 5MHz, the latter facilitating fast frame rate usage or focusing.
