Boston, MA (March 4, 2009) -- AMICAS, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMCS), a leader in radiology and medical image and information management solutions, today announced that Monroe Clinic of Monroe, WI, is the first customer to benefit from a standards-based framework that allows Verona, WI-based Epic Systems Corporation’s Radiant RIS™ to tightly integrate with AMICAS PACS™.
Monroe Clinic is a not-for-profit health system that includes a multi-specialty clinic and hospital with more than 80 providers, a 24-hour emergency room, home care and hospice services, and 10 clinics in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. The Radiant RIS-AMICAS PACS solution will also be featured at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center of Boston and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.

AMICAS and Epic product development teams are collaborating to create an architecture that tightly integrates RIS and PACS. This collaboration includes a multi-year roadmap to support a series of advanced functions – such as support for peer review workflows and auto-launching of specific activities in shared workflows.
