PALO ALTO, Calif., July 5, 2006 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced the appointment of Nick Roelofs, Ph.D., as vice president and general manager, Life Sciences Solutions Unit. This Agilent business unit serves basic research, disease research and pharmaceutical markets, which include genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, drug discovery/development and pharmaceutical quality control/quality assurance. "Nick understands the needs of scientists and scientific organizations, and what it takes from a business standpoint to successfully serve these markets," said Chris van Ingen, president, Agilent Life Sciences and Chemical Analysis.
