Philadelphia, Pa. (October 30, 2018) - The Adult Congenital Heart Association (ACHA), the only non-profit in the country dedicated solely to the unique social, educational and medical needs of the 1.4 million adults in the U.S. with congenital heart defects, is hosting the Northern California Regional Conference on November 3, in partnership with University of California San Francisco, Stanford Health Care, Stanford Children’s Health, and Kaiser Permanente, which provided funding for the conference.
Located at Neyborly - Poet’s Corner, the conference will feature detailed presentations from experts in the field on specialized lifelong care for adults with congenital heart disease (ACHD) including transitioning from pediatric to adult congenital cardiology; dental care as part of your heart health; surgery preparation; exercise, diet and sleep; and helping children cope with health issues.
Held nationwide, ACHA’s regional conferences aim to provide ACHD patients and their family members with a better understanding of the disease. Attendees will receive the educational tools necessary to make informed decisions, seek lifelong care from congenital heart disease (CHD) experts, and learn how to advocate for their CHD needs, health and wellness.
“Our regional conferences are all about helping patients, providing education and social connections that empower them to take control of their CHD,” said Mark Roeder, President and CEO of ACHA.
Patients, family members, and friends interested in attending the Northern California Regional Conference may register at http://bit.ly/achanorthernca. Registration is $20 per person. For more information, visit achaheart.org/events.
