Accuray Inc. Receives Microsoft Dynamics(R) Customer Excellence Award

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Accuray Incorporated (Nasdaq: ARAY), the premier radiation oncology company, announced today that it has been awarded the 2012 Industry Excellence Award by Microsoft® as part of the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards program. Accuray will be honored at Convergence 2012, the premier Microsoft Dynamics user conference, on Monday, March 19, 2012 in Houston, Texas.

The 2012 Customer Excellence Awards, which are presented in nine categories ranging from Technology Innovation and Productivity to Operations Agility and Cloud Transformation, recognize and celebrate customers who have achieved notable accomplishments using Microsoft Dynamics solutions. The Industry Excellence award, submitted on behalf of Accuray by Armanino Consulting of San Ramon, Calif., a Microsoft Dynamics Gold ERP certified partner, recognizes the company’s achievement of measurable success in its industry through the use of Microsoft Dynamics solutions and a strong overall commitment to excellence. Specifically, Accuray is being honored for:

  • Improved operations that support business growth;
  • Consolidation of more than 18 disparate IT systems into a single, integrated Dynamics AX platform;
  • Creation of a partially paperless environment for the regulated components of its manufacturing and service business lines.

“As a leading global manufacturer of capital medical equipment, including the CyberKnife and TomoTherapy Systems, Accuray has achieved incredible success in consolidating our business applications and building a comprehensive management platform using Microsoft Dynamics,” said Euan S. Thomson, Ph.D., president and chief executive officer of Accuray. “We are honored to receive this award from Microsoft, validating our efforts for continued improvement and optimization. By driving simplicity and facilitating the flow of information across departments and throughout our supply chain, we are able to deliver both best-in-class processes, and provide an optimal experience for our customers. We look forward to continuing to build upon this success.”

In addition to the company’s success in implementing Microsoft Dynamics solutions, Accuray recently achieved significant integration milestones following its acquisition of TomoTherapy Incorporated in June of 2011, further underscoring the company’s commitment to optimization for its customer base and shareholders. Specifically, Accuray has unified and streamlined the customer support function, combined its direct sales teams to form “One Accuray” for customers, established common service contract offerings across all product lines and implemented an Operational Excellence program to drive sustained transformation within the company.

About the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards
Established in 1997, the Microsoft Dynamics Customer Excellence Awards are awarded each year at the Convergence user conference. Microsoft Dynamics partners and team members submit nominations. Teams of judges for each of the categories rate nominations on category-specific criteria. Proposed winners for each category are then presented and reviewed by a panel of Microsoft executive judges for final approval. As part of that final review, winning customers are chosen.
