LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Abraxis BioScience, Inc. (NASDAQ:ABII), an integrated, global biotechnology firm, reported that the results of a phase 2 study were presented today at the 13th Annual World Conference on Lung Cancer of the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) in San Francisco, CA. The data presented provided evidence of anti-tumor activity in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) receiving first- line treatment regimens of albumin-bound nab-paclitaxel (ABRAXANE® for Injectable Suspension) in combination with carboplatin. Clinical activity and safety indicators from this study led to the selection of weekly 100 mg/m2 ABRAXANE as an optimal dose. A Phase 3 randomized, multicenter study comparing carboplatin in combination with weekly 100 mg/m2 ABRAXANE or Taxol® injection is ongoing.
