Will you be alive five years from now? Recently, researchers announced they’d found a test that can predict whether healthy people will die from a medical condition in the next half-decade. How could such a crystal ball be possible? The study, published a few weeks ago in the journal PLOS Medicine, used a standard blood sample that was screened for a series of biomarkers. If your blood registers high levels of four biological molecules found in your blood, body fluids, or tissues, you are at a substantially higher risk of dying in the next five years, the researchers found.
