3rd Annual International Patient Recruitment and Retention in Pharma Summit Attracts Global Leaders, Including CEO of MediciGlobal

Amsterdam- February 21, 2011- This week marks the 3rd year that international pharmaceutical executives will convene to discuss global issues related to patient recruitment and retention in clinical trials. It is also the 3rd year that international recruitment-retention leader, Liz Moench, President and CEO of MediciGlobal, will be chairing the event. At this year’s conference, pharma executives from China, Eastern and Western Europe and North America will cover topics ranging from changing regulations, feasibility and planning, the recruitment of patients in different clinical settings, the impact of the internet, and differences in recruitment strategies by country.

Speakers include, Victoria DiBiaso, Head of Protocol Feasibility & Patient Enrolment, Genzyme USA, Kathrin Schoenborn-Sobolewski, Vice President, Clinical Trial Management, Merck Serono, Trond Tennoe, Regional Head, Clinical Operations, Pfizer, Michael Herschel, Director of Clinical Research, GSK, Wolfgang Eglmeier, Head Clinical Operations Germany at Grunenthal and others.

The conference will discuss how the internet is changing the planning and recruiting process around the globe, addressing how technology trends are changing patient behavior and how people are accessing clinical trials. “It is natural that given the explosive growth of social networking sites in Eastern Europe, parts of Latin America, and elsewhere around the globe that part of this conference will examine the changing environment of patient recruitment in pharmaceuticals and biotech.” explains Nick Halkitis, MediciGlobal’s Global Director of eMarketing. “It’s also changing how companies select research sites and in which countries they place their studies.”

Recognized as an opinion leader in patient recruitment, Liz Moench will share insights and expertise related to innovations in patient recruitment, with a focused presentation on how the internet and social networks are changing patient recruitment, patient advocacy and study site selection. Therapeutic case studies and unpublished patient-centric data will be shared with conference executives.

The conference is hosted by the Allan Lloyds Group. To learn more about the 3rd Annual Patient Recruitment and Retention in Pharma Conference in Amsterdam this week, visit www.patientrecruitmentsummit.com.
