Xcelience LLC expects to hire its 100th worker, as it prepares to open a new facility in Tampa.
The company, which contracts with pharmaceutical firms to formulate and analyze drugs in development, will open the 24,000-square-foot plant at 4901 Grace St., south of Tampa International Airport, on Sept. 14. It’s the company’s second facility in the Tampa Bay area, and will enable the company to double headcount over the next three years, a statement said.
The new jobs made the company eligible for a Florida Qualified Targeted Industry tax refund incentive award of $135,000, according to an announcement when the project initially was announced a little over a year ago. Representatives of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp. and the Tampa Bay Partnership are scheduled to attend the opening, as are Mayor Bob Buckhorn, Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham, and Rep. Donna Young.
The new building will be used for primary and secondary packaging, labeling, distribution and warehouse services, and it will audited and approved for domestic as well as European clinical trials.
