The company, which contracts with pharmaceutical firms to formulate and analyze drugs in development, will add 1,000 square feet to its 24,000-square-foot existing facility on West Laurel Street, and also develop a new 24,000-square-foot facility nearby, a company statement said.
The expansion will take place over three years, but Xcelience is poised to begin hiring, and currently is seeking chemists and managers.

The new jobs make the company eligible for a Florida Qualified Targeted Industry Tax Refund incentive award of $135,000. To qualify for QTI, the jobs must pay average salaries of at least $46,833, or 115 percent of the average annual wage in the Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater metro area.
