July 20, 2013 --Mindray Medical closed its purchase of Zonare Medical Systems, a US high-end ultrasound maker at a final price was $101.7 million; Chongqing Lummy Pharma will bid at least $7 million for the 40% stake in Sichuan Hygien Pharma that it does not already own; Kunming Pharma established an Uzbekistan JV with $3.5 million of initial capital; Marinomed Biotechnologie of Vienna sold the China rights for its five antiviral products to an unnamed European pharma; Tianyin Pharma is looking for deals to market its Azithromycin API in the Indian subcontinent; Sihuan Pharma received CFDA permission to begin clinical trials of a novel treatment for ulcers; and officials from China’s Ministry of Public Security alleged that GlaxoSmithKline spent $489 million on bribes to China doctors, hospital managers and public officials from 2007 to the present.
