SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Every year, over 5 million central venous lines to establish vascular access are placed in patients, many in resuscitation attempts, at an average cost of just under $300 per procedure, and an average procedure time as high as 15 minutes. In comparison, intraosseous access, which establishes vascular access through the inside of the bones, accomplishes the same function safely and effectively, in 90 seconds, and at a cost of just over $100 per insertion, a study recently found.
