University of Bristol Collaborates With Affymetrix (Santa Clara, California) On Genotyping Arrays For Guaranteed Sustainability Of Wheat Production

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Affymetrix, Inc. (NASDAQ: AFFX) and University of Bristol, Bristol, UK, announced today that they have collaboratively designed a wheat genotyping array and analyzed data from experiments as part of an effort to understand wheat genetics and breeding with a goal of ensuring guaranteed sustainable production. Axiom® Wheat Genotyping Array (Axiom Wheat Array), consisting of 817,000 markers, was designed for the University of Bristol as part of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC)-funded Wheat Improvement Strategic Program (WISP).
