ROCHESTER, N.Y., Oct. 15 — Carestream has received orders from three U.S. Government Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) for a total of 46 CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray Systems and 11 room-based CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution digital radiography systems. The Department of Veterans Affairs is divided into regional VISNs, which serve veterans across the country and in U.S. territories.

“After a thorough evaluation process by the customer that involved multiple suppliers, three VISNs selected our mobile and room-based DR systems over competitive systems. Winning these large orders demonstrates the strength and versatility of our innovative DRX family, as well as the trust customers have in our service and support teams,” said Diana L. Nole, President, Digital Medical Solutions, Carestream.

One VISN serves veterans residing in California, Nevada, Hawaii, the Philippines and several Pacific Islands. This VISN consists of seven VA Medical Centers and manages a total of 37 care sites. The other two VISNs include 13 medical centers and 59 community-based outpatient clinics in downstate New York and New Jersey, and the Oklahoma City area.

The CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution DR Room is a versatile digital radiography system with configurable, modular components that can be combined to fit the space, workflow and budget requirements of each healthcare facility. This system can perform a wide variety of general radiographic exams with convenience, productivity and patient comfort. DRX detectors can significantly lower X-ray exposure when compared to CR cassettes.

The CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray System is a versatile mobile X-ray system that features a small footprint, exceptional maneuverability, excellent image quality and wireless communication of medical exams. This system’s easy-to-use interface can help improve staff productivity and the system’s tubehead monitor allows technologists to remain at the bedside during the imaging process.

Carestream’s digital X-ray systems chosen by the VISNs—as well as the company’s entire radiology product portfolio—will be on display at the annual meeting of the Radiological Society of North America that begins Dec. 1 in Chicago, Ill.
