Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. introduces a new advanced software package, SURESubtraction, for Toshiba’s Aquilion(TM) CT line that will reduce CT examination time for patients exhibiting symptoms of neurological disorders by automating and streamlining bone subtraction. Currently, subtracting bone from neurological CT angiography procedures is a cumbersome and timely process - physicians must scan the brain twice, once with contrast and once without contrast, and then manually subtract bone structures from the image to better visualize the vessels and tissue. Toshiba’s SURESubtraction technology completely automates the bone subtraction process, reducing exam time by as much as 90 percent and resulting in faster, more accurate exams.
