(NYSE: TMO), the world leader in serving science, announced today that it has established a new financial reporting segment, called Specialty Diagnostics, following its acquisition of Phadia, a global leader in blood tests for the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergies and autoimmune diseases. As a result, Thermo Fisher’s financial performance will be reported in three segments instead of two, effective with the company’s third fiscal quarter of 2011.
