SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - October 14, 2008) - Theravance, Inc. (NASDAQ: THRX) announced today that the Anti-Infective Drugs Advisory Committee (AIDAC) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will convene to review the New Drug Application (NDA) for telavancin, a novel, bactericidal, once-daily injectable investigational antibiotic, for the proposed indication to treat complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSSI) caused by Gram-positive bacteria, including resistant pathogens such as methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The AIDAC meeting is scheduled for the morning of November 19, 2008 and will be held at the Holiday Inn/College Park, College Park, MD.
