The International Myeloma Foundation Congratulates Friend and Collaborator Dr. Luc Montagnier for Being Awarded the Nobel Prize

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) – supporting research and providing education, advocacy, and support for myeloma patients, families, researchers, and physicians – today congratulated French researcher Dr. Luc Montagnier as co-recipient of the 2008 Nobel Prize in medicine. Dr. Montagnier who is best known for his role in discovering the virus that causes AIDS, has also contributed to new lines of research related to multiple myeloma – he attended the very first IMF scientific advisors retreat, and participated in an IMF round table at the VII International Myeloma Workshop in Stockholm.
