Industry leaders join state legislators to discuss evolving life sciences ecosystem in Indiana
(September 24, 2025 - New Albany and Indianapolis, IN)--The Indiana Medical Device Manufacturers Council (IMDMC) and the Indiana Health Industry Forum (IHIF) are partnering with the Purdue Technology Center and Purdue Research Foundation in New Albany on September 24th , the second in a series of forums held around the State, to introduce The MedTech/Life Sciences Policy Forum to State Legislators. The new Policy Forum will feature a tour for legislators of the PurdueTechnology Center of SE Indiana located at 3000 Technology Ave., New Albany, and Poly Group, one of the Center’s business occupants.
Poly Group is an early stage company that is commercializing an anti-microbial co-polymer, developed at Purdue, which will help fight hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Following the tour, there will be two panel discussions led State Representative Ed Clere, (R-New Albany) and Paul Moses, Director of Purdue Research Foundation.
Panelists contributing to the discussions include Greg Wathen, Economic Development Coalition of SW Indiana, Wendy Dant Chesser. One Southern, Andrew Takami, Director Purdue Polytechnic, Victor Swami, President of Areva Pharmaceuticals, Tony Armstrong, Indiana University Technology Corp. Ann Waterhouse, Director of Regulatory Affairs at Hill-Rom and Ron McKulick, Region 10 Workforce Board.
More than 20 different representatives of Life Science businesses, schools, and nvestors along with representatives from State and Federal offices have committed to attending this meeting, along with area legislators.
The MedTech/Life Sciences Policy Forum is a series designed for members of the General Assembly that will focus on Indiana’s strengths in the sector and policy recommendations to help spawn a dynamic life sciences ecosystem in the state. Both the Medical Device and Life Science Industries along with the Health Industry in Indiana have interests in the retention, growth and attraction of current and new businesses in their sectors.
The first Policy Forum was held on August 31 at Roche Diagnostics in Indianapolis.
