PORTSMOUTH, NH--(Marketwire - May 26, 2010) - Salient Surgical Technologies announced today that the Japanese government has awarded Ninsho Pre-market Certification for the company's AQUAMANTYS® System, clearing it for sale in Japan.
The AQUAMANTYS System employs Salient's proprietary TRANSCOLLATION™ technology, a combination of radiofrequency energy and saline for haemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone designed to improve patient outcomes and lower costs for hospitals in a wide variety of surgical procedures.
Salient won Ninsho certification for the AQUAMANTYS System as part of a year-long process in partnership with its Japanese distributor Century Medical, Inc. (CMI), a subsidiary of the ITOCHU Corporation.
