CRO to lead discussion on “New Pathways to Approval” and engage with local talent to fill data science positions
WHAT: Rho, a full-service contract research organization (CRO), will host a PHUSE Single Day Event (SDE) for society members on the topic of “New Pathways to Approval,” being held on Thursday, December 5, at Rho headquarters in Research Triangle Park (RTP), North Carolina.
This event will discuss the study and program designs that use methodologies other than the traditional Phase I to III randomized trials, as well as the Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) recently published guidance on the topic, which encourages sponsors to use non-traditional approaches such as master protocols, basket protocols, continuous drug development and historical cohorts instead of placebo.
Former Rho Co-CEO Russ Helms will welcome members to the event. Additionally, Rho’s David Hall, principle investigator and head of bioinformatics, will present “Clinical Trial of the Future: Technology-driven Innovation in Clinical Research” at 1:45 p.m., and Rho’s Jeff Abolafia, chief strategist, data standards, and co-SDE chair, will moderate the “Panel Discussion and Closing Remarks” at 3:30 p.m. Additional speakers include experts from the FDA, d-wise, Project Data Sphere, CDISC, Merck and MMS.
