Hunt Valley, Maryland - October 20, 2010 - Pharmaceutics International Inc. (Pii), a leading contract development and manufacturing organization, today announced the appointment of Tony Horton as vice president of quality assurance. Mr. Horton brings over thirty five years of experience to Pii.

Prior to joining Pii, Mr. Horton worked for a number of well know companies including BenVenue, Mylan Laboratories, Gensia Sicor Pharmaceuticals, Fujisawa and Baxter Labs. His extensive background includes hosting regulatory agency manufacturing site inspections with the FDA, EMEA, JP, MCA/MHRA, German Regulatory Agency, Australian Regulatory Agency, and ENVISA. He has led successful PAI’s and GMP re-certification inspections for more than fifteen products. Mr. Horton’s last fifteen years have focused on working with companies under regulatory stress. During that time, he guided companies through four consent decrees and one fraud policy, devising response plans and leading them through corrective actions and ultimate resolution.
