Registered Nurse Yordis Morrison, CEO & Founder of Nurses Off the Clock, donated her first 100 hybrid medical-pajamas to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Program in Florida.
| FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., /PRNewswire/ -- Registered Nurse Yordis Morrison, CEO & Founder of Nurses Off the Clock, donated her first 100 hybrid medical-pajamas to the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Program in Florida. The medical-pajamas will benefit patients undergoing cancer treatment, while staying at the Cancer Society’s Tampa and Jacksonville Lodges. “Through this donation, I honor my mother who lost her fight against cancer,” said Yordis Morrison, designer of Mijamaz. “During her treatment I witnessed how the traditional hospital gowns left her body cold, and exposed. That led me to create Mijamaz Medical-Pajama; it accommodates most medical lines and appliances, as well as protects the body privacy of patients without hindering their ability to receive care. Today, I want to give back by donating my first 100 pajamas to patients who are fighting against cancer - just as my mother would have liked.” The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program offers a home away from home to cancer patients and their caregivers while undergoing treatment. Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients 18 and older, and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment is in another city. Currently, there are more than 30 Hope Lodge locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. “Getting the best care sometimes means cancer patients must travel away from home. This can place an extra emotional and financial burden on patients and caregivers during an already challenging time.
