VEENENDAAL, The Netherlands, and REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Nucletron B.V., a knowledge-based leader in Radiation Oncology, and Questra Corporation, the leader in Intelligent Device Management (IDM), have announced the general availability of Nucletron’s onConnect Remote Service built on the Questra IDM Application Suite(TM).
With onConnect, hospitals and radiation oncology clinics benefit from optimized systems performance and uptime on their Nucletron radiotherapy solutions. onConnect provides secure, continuous monitoring of Nucletron Oncentra(TM), microSelectron Afterloader and Simulator solutions; automatic notification to Nucletron service staff of potential problems with system performance; and the capability for service technicians to remotely interact with devices and proactively resolve issues. Nucletron customers also benefit from secure automated software distribution and configuration management capabilities. Nucletron offers onConnect as part of their StandardCare and FullCare service contracts, both for existing and new customers.
“The value of onConnect is in knowing that Nucletron is always keeping an eye on our Oncentra system,” said Dr. Pintye Eva, Chief Physicist at Debrecen University Hospital, Debrecen, Hungary. “We depend on the Nucletron Oncentra system to help treat our patients.”
Prior to the worldwide launch, Nucletron ran an onConnect pilot program throughout several European countries. The pilot was highly successful -- and customers experienced immediate benefits -- so Nucletron chose to accelerate their service offering’s worldwide launch.
Dr. Jose Perez Calatayud, Chief Physicist at Hospital La Fe, Valencia, Spain added, “onConnect makes sure the system is performing at its best, which ultimately leads to better patient care. Because Nucletron can deal with almost any performance issue remotely, our radiologists and technicians can focus their efforts to better serving our patients.”
The successful worldwide launch of onConnect is the result of the combined efforts of Nucletron and Questra. “Nucletron has done an outstanding job with the launch of their onConnect Remote Service offering,” said Walt Rossi, vice president of marketing at Questra. “We are honored to be part of this strategic initiative.”
In addition to higher performance and increased uptime for Nucletron customers, Nucletron reports a significant reduction in on-site service calls required to address customer issues.
“We are excited by both the demonstrated and potential business value of Questra-based remote services for our customers and our company,” said Nol Nuijten, director of customer service at Nucletron. “By leveraging the expertise of Questra, we have been able to provide our customers with a market-leading remote service. Our customers depend on Nucletron hardware and software solutions to perform to the highest standards every time they are used. With onConnect, customers can count on it. This new offering changes the
nature of our service business from reactive to proactive, providing our customers a solution that should actually help them improve patient care.”
