SAN FRANCISCO, June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The State of Victoria, Australia and the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) will hold a press briefing on The Kangaroo Genome Project on Tuesday, June 8 at the BIO 2004 Conference in San Francisco. Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) will talk about a pioneering project to sequence the genome of a variety of kangaroo.
One of the fastest growing biotech centers in the world, the State of Victoria in Australia is a key supporter of this project, which is expected to provide clues about the structure and functions of genes vital to human health and development.
