A new strain of bird flu has been found in the Fraser Valley, different from anything seen in the area before, officials said. Scientists can’t rule out the possibility the strain is the one responsible for the recent deaths of people in Asia, but they urged residents not to panic. The discovery among geese and ducks at the Abbotsford farm has prompted officials to close a school across the road from the farm.
