BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- High marks for service, access to needed care and high quality care for heart attacks, cancer screenings, prenatal care and depression treatment, led the National Committee for Quality Assurance to name HealthPartners “Excellent” for commercial plans and Medicare+Choice plans.
NCQA is a private, non-profit organization that accredits and certifies a wide range of health care organizations. The HealthPartners rating is based on both clinical outcomes and a survey of HealthPartners members.
“This rating from NCQA is important for consumers because analysis shows that accredited plans outperform non-accredited plans in all measures of clinical care and member satisfaction,” said Mary Brainerd, chief executive officer, HealthPartners.
Patient/member satisfaction -- The number of members who give HealthPartners the highest overall rating of 9 or 10 increased nine percentage points over last year. -- More than nine out of ten say they are treated with courtesy and respect. -- Most (more than three out of four) experience no delays while waiting for plan approval and being taken to an exam room. -- Nine out of ten are satisfied with how well their doctor communicates. -- More than three out of four give high ratings to their physician, their ability to see a specialist and feel they get the care they need. NCQA will announce how well local health plans compare to national averages as well as the top plans in each region of the country Sept. 24.
