CAMBRIDGE, Mass., /PRNewswire/ -- Mother Dirt, the microbiome company creating skincare products containing a live culture of bacteria, announced today its first-ever pop-up shop at SHOWFIELDS in New York, a retail concept that invites visitors to discover and engage with the brands of tomorrow. Mother Dirt will host a living, breathing exhibit that tells the story of its hero product, the AO+ Mist. Its core ingredient, ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB), is a peacekeeping bacteria that humans evolved with, but was wiped out over the past century by modern chemistry and indoor lifestyles. Inspired by the classic children's book, Where the Wild Things Are, the nostalgic, cozy pop-up will bring the story of this good bacteria to life by encouraging visitors to connect the dots between humans and nature. "Having this 360-degree experience gives visitors the chance to learn about the science and history of the microbiome firsthand, in a way that makes the bacteria in our AO+ Mist feel less like a novelty, and more like the important ingredient for skin health it is," said Jasmina Aganovic, president of Mother Dirt. "SHOWFIELDS' commitment to presenting companies and ideas that push the envelope make them an ideal home for us. It's important to surround ourselves with like-minded brands and to be in an environment that champions wellness." Mother Dirt is demystifying the microbial world, and shifting the definition of "clean" away from sterile and toward a healthy, balanced biome. The AO+ Mist is clinically proven to restore clarity and balance to all skin types within four weeks of use, and is supported by a full line of biome-friendly products, including Face & Body Cleanser, Moisturizer and Shampoo – each of which help maintain beneficial microorganisms on the skin as opposed to washing them away. Visitors to the pop-up will see how studying the past allowed Mother Dirt to reimagine a future for skin health that's holistic, and filled with good bacteria — the way nature intended. This forward-thinking approach is echoed in SHOWFIELDS' mission to introduce their community to the boundary-pushing brands of tomorrow. "At SHOWFIELDS we are dedicated to helping brands with a strong online presence build a physical space where they can connect with their consumers in real life. When looking for companies that fill those criteria, we felt Mother Dirt was a perfect fit," said Tal Zvi Nathanel, CEO of SHOWFIELDS. "The Mother Dirt team worked with SHOWFIELDS to build an immersive space that will welcome their guests into a new world, which is exactly what we want from a brand at SHOWFIELDS." Founded by entrepreneurs Tal Zvi Nathanel, Amir Zwickel and Katie Hunt, SHOWFIELDS brings digitally native brands to life with customized flagship spaces that combine retail, art and community. Mother Dirt will be showcasing on the second floor of the four story brick-and-mortar retail concept. SHOWFIELDS is located at 11 Bond Street (at the corner with Lafayette Street) in New York City and will be open Monday 12pm-8pm; Tuesday through Saturday 11am-8pm and Sunday 11am-7pm.
