San Diego, Dec. 12 -- MicroConstants Inc., a Pharmacokinetically-Based CRO, today announced the promotions of David Beyerlein, to Vice President of Global Operation and Jose V. Buenviaje, Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance.

The promotion of David F. Beyerlein to Vice President of Global Operation reflects MicroConstants’ expansion into Beijing, China. In June 2007, MicroConstants established its subsidiary MicroConstants China Co. Ltd. in Beijing to bring U.S. FDA GLP compliant bioanalytical capability to China. This was done in an effort to meet growing global outsourcing needs.
In his new role, David F. Beyerlein will oversee daily laboratory operations of the MicroConstants San Diego facility as well as provide supervisory guidance to the Beijing facility operation. The Beijing facility is on schedule to be U.S. FDA GLP compliant by the end of year 2008.
The promotion of Jose V. Buenviaje to Vice President of Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance is in part due to his contributions to the quality systems for MicroConstants China. Jose V. Buenviaje has implemented the quality management system of MicroConstants San Diego and Beijing and has provided extensive training and supervision to the Quality Assurance staff in Beijing. To meet the challenge of regulatory differences between U.S. and China, Jose V. Buenviaje will work closely with MicroConstants China to ensure that all the GLP bioanalytical studies conducted in Beijing will meet both U.S. FDA and China SFDA GLP requirements.
