Merck & Co., Inc.: No Tax Inversions, We Just Want Bolt-On Deals

Unlike some other drug makers, Merck is fine with its tax rate just where it is.

On an earnings call with analysts Tuesday morning, Merck executives dismissed any thought that it would follow other drug makers and seek a deal overseas to lower its tax rate. Based in Whitehouse Station, N.J., Merck currently pays taxes at a rate between 24% and 26%.
