A photo of the Eiffel Tower hangs on the wall of Jessee Hunt’s Frisco office. The Paris landmark is “the world’s most famous truss structure,” he says -- an example of the triangular design that underpins the orthopedic implants made by 4WEB Medical.
Hunt, the company’s founder and chief executive officer, started 4WEB in 2008 after working for years in medical device and software sales. The company uses 3D printing to create titanium implants for the spine, foot and ankle and other parts of the body. Its implants are unique because of their intricate geometric structure, which helps to stimulate the bone. They are made in Denver, packaged in the Netherlands and used in hospitals across the world.
