Medopad, one of the world’s fastest-growing health technology companies, is today announcing partnerships with leading health tech companies, including Medtronic and Fibricheck
London, UK – 23 October 2018 – Medopad, one of the world’s fastest-growing health technology companies, is today announcing partnerships with leading health tech companies, including Medtronic in Europe and Fibricheck, to unite the fragmented digital health ecosystem. Medopad aims to partner with the world’s top digital health companies and clinicians for solutions and treatments tailored to the needs of every patient and clinical team.
The Medopad Platform Programme offers third-party digital health solutions a streamlined journey from idea to product and access to Medopad’s existing network of hospital, pharma and innovation partners, including Guy’s & St Thomas’, Johns Hopkins, Boston Scientific and Tencent. Medopad is committing $10 million in support and resources to supercharge partners’ tech integration, business development and market access. With support in the EU, US and China, the Medopad Platform Programme aims to accelerate the ability of any HealthTech company to develop and scale their innovation across the global healthcare market.
Dan Vahdat, Medopad CEO and Founder, commented, “Medopad believes that the only way for digital health to achieve its transformative potential is to bring the best health solutions together into one patient and clinician-facing platform that’s customisable to each condition and patients’ needs. From drug adherence to heart and wound monitoring and body composition, Medopad Platform Partners are creating innovative solutions that can help patients live longer. By uniting the best care-specific solutions on our platform, we enable care teams and patients to get quicker access to new technologies that improve their lives and help patients to live longer.”
One in 4 adults and 90% of patients over 65 with chronic illnesses have a comorbidity of more than one chronic illness. Integrating partner solutions directly into Medopad’s platform gives care teams access to patient data in real-time, in one place, to enable better patient outcomes. Doctors can configure the Medopad app for patients in minutes to create condition-specific apps for patients and their connected devices to share information. With Medopad, patients will have one app to share health data, access information about their conditions and connect to their care teams.
HealthTech companies that have joined the Medopad Partner Programme include experts in medical devices, cardiovascular health, 3D imaging, and symptom checking algorithms. These new partners will be able to make their services directly available to patients and healthcare providers through Medopad’s digital health platform.
“By combining AI, connected devices and relevant datasets, Medopad has created incredible new opportunities for developers to move beyond the app, and build components, intelligent bots, predictive algorithms and more,” said Luke Eastwood, Head of Platform Programme, Medopad. “The new Medopad Platform Programme gives Healthcare providers, Pharma, Insurers and Governments a single destination for everything they need to create solutions for better patient engagement and monitoring beyond the hospital walls. ”
The Medopad Partner Programme includes:
- Medtronic is one of the world’s largest medical device companies that has developed a pre-and-post surgical digital guide and management solution called Get Ready® to assist patient preparation and recovery.
- FibriCheck is the first medically-certified technology that uses the built-in photoplethysmorgraphic (PPG) sensors in smartphones to detect atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders and identifies cases that need further medical attention.
- Information Mediary offers innovative adherence data tools to support clinical care decisions and expedite clinical trials, getting new drugs to those who need them more quickly
- Tissue Analytics turns a smartphone into a 3D imaging service that documents the state of an open wound. Using machine learning and computer vision, it can help speed up clinical documentation and improve the quality of data.
- Your.MD is a free service that uses Artificial Intelligence to help people find safe health information to make the best choices for their health.
- Thriva is building a 21st century healthcare service. We’re using frictionless, at-home test kits to enable anyone to understand, track and improve their health. Thriva’s proprietary platform enables customers to create personalised tests geared around their goals.
- BVI (Body Volume Indicator) uses computer imaging technology and AI to enable the global medical profession to easily and efficiently access body composition data from smartphones without using any hardware or machinery.
- Atlas Biomed sells two proprietary tests: Atlas DNA Test and Atlas Microbiome Test to provide personalised actionable health, diet and lifestyle recommendations.
“The partnership will allow us to leverage Medopad’s existing digital platform and customer base to deploy Get Ready® faster and with a broad geographical reach. We also aim to enhance our joint value proposition - through the Medopad platform our patients will be able to provide additional data to drive further personalisation of Get Ready® perioperative engagement experience” commented Matic Meglic, Medtronic Digital Health and Patient Management Solutions Director, EMEA.
“Medopad’s modular platform design makes it easy to combine our smart packaging with their drug adherence module to deliver a medication monitoring and behavioural coaching system that is accurate, flexible and reliable. This exciting partnership will also be instrumental in giving us access to new markets beyond clinical trials with hospitals and care teams where Medopad has forged strong relationships,” said Michael Petersen, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Information Mediary Corp.
Joining forces with technology companies at the forefront of health tech innovation is central to Medopad’s strategy to solve some of the biggest problems in rare, chronic and complex disease monitoring. Medopad’s goal is to help extend the lives of more than 1 billion patients.
Steve Black, Vascular Surgeon and consultant, Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Trust Foundation, commented, “We often talk in healthcare about having a patient-centred focus. If we genuinely deliver on this and look at the patient’s journey, the whole process becomes so much simpler, and Medopad delivers that.”
