Medicis Reports Second Quarter 2007 Financial Results

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 7, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Medicis (NYSE:MRX) today announced revenue for the three months ended June 30, 2007 of approximately $108.9 million, compared to approximately $85.0 million for the three months ended June 30, 2006, representing a year-over-year increase of approximately 28%. This increase was primarily due to the successful launches of ZIANA(TM) and PERLANE(R) and the continued strength of SOLODYN(R). Net income computed in accordance with U.S. generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for the three months ended June 30, 2007 was approximately $15.5 million, or approximately $0.24 per diluted share, compared to GAAP net income of $15.5 million, or $0.25 per diluted share, for the three months ended June 30, 2006.
