SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 15, 2006--Ligand Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Pink Sheets:LGND - News; the "Company" or "Ligand") announced unaudited financial results for its first quarter of fiscal year 2006. Total revenues for the three months ended March 31, 2006 were $51.0 million compared to $37.0 million for the same 2005 period, an increase of 38%. Net product sales increased by 37% for the three months ended March 31, 2006 from $35.0 million for the same period in 2005 to $48.0 million in 2006.
