Enterprise News -- BioSphere Medical, a Rockland-based medical device company, has agreed to be acquired by a Utah device manufacturer for $96 million. The potential new owner, Merit Medical of South Jordan, Utah, said there likely will be cutbacks in Rockland. BioSphere has about 88 employees, including 30 at its Rockland headquarters.
