He created a prototype for the OMELIA to help patients feel comfortable about themselves. The invention includes supports and handrails that enable patients to control themselves while getting on and off the bed. This reduces physical stress and strain. The device offers added peace of mind to patients and caregivers. It saves users from having to ask for outside assistance with going to the bathroom. Additionally, the enhanced commode eliminates hassles and frustration, as well as potential embarrassment.
