BEDFORD, Mass., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ruthann DePietro has joined Insulet Corporation as Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Affairs. Insulet manufactures the OmniPod(R) Insulin Management System, an innovative new product for the treatment of diabetes that brings together safe, reliable, continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion and blood glucose monitoring in an easy-to-use, two-part system.
In addition to qualifying Insulet’s automated manufacturing later this spring, DePietro’s chief responsibilities will include overseeing the company’s quality assurance program and developing and administering quality processes throughout the organization. She will also ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and legislative standards, including those related to the development of the next generation of OmniPod systems.

Immediately prior to joining Insulet, DePietro served as Vice President of Quality and Regulatory Compliance at ONUX Medical, Inc., the developer of laparoscopic suturing and fixation devices and accessories for general surgery, plastic surgery, cardiology and cardiovascular products. Before that, she worked in quality assurance and engineering management at Micro Med, Inc. / Disetronic, a contract manufacturer of medical devices related to infusion sets, arthroscopy, orthopedic, urology, cardiology, and insulin delivery products. Her earlier career included service with C.R. Bard, Inc. and Mallinckrodt Medical, Inc., with continuing emphasis on total quality management (TQM) systems.
DePietro earned a B.S. in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Rochester and an M.B.A. in High Tech Business from Northeastern University. She resides in Atkinson, N.H.
