(NASDAQ:INO) announced today that further to the voluntary delisting of Genetronics Biomedical Corporation, a predecessor of the Company, from the Toronto Stock Exchange on January 17, 2003, it has applied to the British Columbia Securities Commission and Ontario Securities Commission for a decision that it is no longer a reporting issuer for the purposes of British Columbia and Ontario securities law. The outcome of this application will not affect Inovio’s listing on the NASDAQ stock exchange nor its reporting obligations with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
If an order that the Company is not a reporting issuer in British Columbia and Ontario is granted by the securities regulatory authorities from such jurisdictions, the Company will no longer be a reporting issuer in any jurisdiction of Canada and will no longer be required to file financial statements and other continuous disclosure documents with Canadian securities regulatory authorities. In this regard, Canadian security holders will continue to have access to all financial statements and other continuous disclosure documents required to be filed by the Company under United States securities laws.
