Greater Memphis Chamber officials will host an expansion ceremony Nov. 16 for Idexx Laboratories, which is adding 35,000 square feet in Memphis and creating 100 jobs.
It is the second distribution expansion for Idexx since the company established Memphis operations in 97,500 square feet in 2007.
Idexx (NASDAQ: IDXX), headquartered in Westbrook, Maine, has developed the pet industry’s broadest line of state-of-the-art health testing systems used by veterinarians worldwide. It employs more than 5,000 people and has customers in over 168 countries.
Its Memphis facility is the largest reference laboratory for Idexx in the U.S., employing more than 150 and growing, according to a chamber press release.
In addition to the pet industry, Idexx develops and sells products that enhance the health and well-being of humans and livestock.
Idexx will invest more than $10 million in its latest expansion and the 100 new jobs will pay a median annual wage of more than $31,000.
The Nov. 16 ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Idexx’s Memphis facility at 6100 E. Shelby Drive.
