NEW YORK, March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Housing Works announced today their 2019 Groundbreaker Award honorees and chairs. The evening celebrates members of the design and philanthropic community who’ve made impressive contributions to the fight against HIV/AIDS and homelessness. Housing Works will hold its seventh annual Groundbreaker Awards Dinner at the Metropolitan Pavilion on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. This year’s honorees include: Portia de Rossi, Founder & CEO, General Public Jim Shreve, President and CEO of BACCARAT, North America Darren Walker, President of Ford Foundation Opening remarks by Don Lemon, Anchor, CNN Tonight with Don Lemon. Dinner Chairs include; Douglas Friedman, Sandra Lee, Charlotte Moss, and Jeffrey Seller & Josh Lehrer. The Groundbreaker Awards comes one day before Housing Works’ popular Design on a Dime Opening Night Reception on April 25th, which is now in its 15th year. This charity benefit brings together over 70 top interior designers who create unique vignettes all from donated merchandise coming, collectively, from over 300 charitable home décor brands. Proceeds from Design on a Dime and the Groundbreaker Awards Dinner go toward the nonprofit’s supportive housing, lifesaving services, and advocacy efforts to bring social justice to marginalized New Yorkers and people living with HIV/AIDS.
