An unusual outbreak of hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) has struck students at Florida State University. The infection is caused by a virus and is much more commonly seen in babies and toddlers. More than fifteen students are infected and ill, including members of a fraternity, causing rush events to be temporarily cancelled. Since many cases of HFMD may be asymptomatic, there are likely significantly more cases.
