NEW ORLEANS, March 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- GS Medical USA, LLC (GSM), a manufacturer and global supplier of spinal implants, instrumentation, and developer of innovative surgical solutions, today announced changes in its executive leadership team to carry forward the company’s plan for continued profitability and year-over-year double-digit growth.
SK Hong will lead GSM’s International Sales, and will serve a dual role in managing the company’s U.S. business as Vice President of Operations. To sharpen GSM’s strategic initiatives, and drive new sales growth across the company, Mark Cohen has been named Vice President of Sales for the U.S. Joseph Jin has been named Interim Executive Vice President, and will focus on aligning sales and marketing directives within the Americas. These leadership changes are effective immediately.
“GS Medical is well-positioned to capitalize on the strength and experience of a highly capable leadership team to support the further development of our organization and efforts within the U.S. and Americas,” said James Shin, CEO of GS Medical Co, Ltd. and GS Medical USA, LLC. “These changes will have a positive impact on our long-term plans for continued profitable growth, greater productivity, and geographic expansion.”
GSM also announced the company’s year-end financials, including a double-digit revenue growth over FY'12. GSM attributes the strong growth to new product launch cycles, product extensions, and new distribution partnerships. GSM’s fiscal growth is also partly attributed to the launch of the company’s AnyPlus® MIS NX, a percutaneous spinal fixation system designed and manufactured in the U.S.
“We are committed to building out the MIS platform, and technologically advanced instrumentation and processes as it relates to this increasingly efficacious surgical approach,” said Mr. Cohen. “Additionally, GSM is continuing its investment in an on-going education initiative by hosting quarterly cadaveric MIS training in international locales such as Thailand this June, and in other Asia-Pacific markets, and two MIS Bio Skills Labs in the U.S. later this year.”
“GSM is in a strong position to achieve greater market share in the U.S.,” said Mr. Jin. “In line with GS Medical Co., Ltd., based in South Korea, which has achieved worldwide recognition in the spinal implant market since 1990, our strategic initiative is aimed at delivering and expanding a number of high-quality surgical solutions for the neurosurgery and orthopedic markets in North America.”
GSM will showcase specialty instruments, line extensions to the AnyPlus® MIS NX system, and its full portfolio this week, March 12-15, at the AAOS Annual Meeting (booth #3734) at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, and at the AANS Annual Scientific Meeting (booth #1138) in San Francisco, at Moscone Center, April 5-9, 2014.
