Cardiocom combines advanced telehealth technologies and expert nurse services enabling them to achieve a superior customer relationship and a competitive edge over other companies in the remote patient monitoring market. “Products offered by Cardiocom include COMMANDER®, TELESCALE®, AUTOLINK®, GLUCOCOM® and OMNIVISOR®. All of these products utilize advanced connectivity solutions in both its hardware and software components,” states Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Arjunvasan Ambigapathy. “In addition, Cardiocom’s Integrated Nurse Services Program, which is unique in the industry, provides a turn-key solution that comes with rapid ramp-up, predictable costs and proven outcomes.”

The COMMANDER telemonitoring device is an integrated system that includes Cardiocom developed peripheral biometric devices to monitor weight, blood pressure, blood glucose, oxygen saturation and peak flow. It also features an intelligent clinical branching logic system that presents questions based on the patient’s responses to previous ones.

The TELESCALE telemonitoring device is programmed to provide instant feedback to users based on the variance in daily patient weight. It includes an integrated messaging and weighing system along with waist-height patient interface that can weigh patients up to 500 lbs. with accuracy and consistency of +/-0.1 lb. Cardiocom’s AUTOLINK device connects with GLUCOCOM, a proprietary blood glucose meter, to remotely measure blood glucose levels. All telemonitoring trended information is then accessed using the OMNIVISOR patient data management system.

Unlike other remote monitoring software products that merely report vital sign readings, Cardiocom’s OMNIVISOR offers detailed analysis of patient data. In addition to high scalability of application, OMNIVISOR can exchange data with electronic medical records using certified industry standard interface methodologies.

“Cardiocom has implemented a comprehensive, analytical approach by incorporating advanced telehealth software algorithms and effective nurse service programs which provide cost benefits and efficiency in telehealth care to customers,” says Ambigapathy. He also notes, “Each Cardiocom call center nurse is capable of monitoring and coordinating care of 250+ patients, delivering a highly efficient service at a low cost. Cardiocom provides a wide array of clinical management services including; identification, stratification, enrollment, intake assessment, health survey screening, coaching, intervention, high-risk management and outcome reporting. It provides timely interventions at the ‘teachable moment’ to reduce hospitalization and ER visits.”

Adopting Cardiocom’s range of solutions offers numerous benefits that create opportunities for accountable care organizations, medical homes, home health, health plans, hospitals, and specialty care organizations. Frost & Sullivan recognizes that Cardiocom periodically obtains feedback from customers, which forms a vital component for their strategic planning when developing or releasing a new product to the market, as one reason contributing to its innovation. Such an important activity creates an enhanced value for Cardiocom’s customers.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a pioneering technology that not only enhances current products but also enables the development of newer products and applications. This award recognizes the high market acceptance potential of the recipient’s technology.
