BALTIMORE, June 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Steven B. Larsen, a former Maryland insurance commissioner, has been named chief executive officer for AMERIGROUP Corporation’s health plans in Maryland and the District of Columbia, effective June 21, 2004.
Larsen served as Maryland’s insurance commissioner from June 1997 until May 2003. Most recently he has been a partner in the Baltimore law firm of Saul Ewing LLP. He represented healthcare and insurance clients before regulatory and legislative bodies as vice chair of the firm’s insurance practice group. Larsen replaces Don Gilmore, who was promoted to lead AMERIGROUP’s Florida operations.
