DXE Medical, a leading distributor for Physio-Control, will make every effort to support LIFEPAK 12 customers on a Time and Materials basis. DXE acknowledges that customers currently in possession of LIFEPAK 12 defibrillators may have numerous questions regarding this announcement. Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I still use my LIFEPAK 12 after September 10th, 2016?
A1: Yes. Your LIFEPAK 12 will still function as it always has. However, new parts may not be available from Physio-Control.
Q2: What happens if my LIFEPAK 12 needs repairs after September 10th, 2016?
A2: DXE currently maintains an inventory of both new and used parts, and will provide support on these devices on a Time and Materials basis for as long as possible.
Q3: Why is Physio-Control discontinuing the LIFEPAK 12?
A3: Manufacturers routinely develop new products and discontinue support on older ones. The LIFEPAK 12 has been a great product, but Physio-Control is focused on selling their newest technology in the LIFEPAK 15 and LIFEPAK 20 defibrillators.
Q4: Will DXE continue to perform Preventive Maintenance on LIFEPAK 12s?
A4: Yes. DXE will continue to support customers that wish to maintain compliance by offering our 22-point Preventive Maintenance check on LIFEPAK 12s.
Q5: What about my warranty?
A5: DXE will honor existing warranties on LIFEPAK 12s. However, Service Contracts that extend into the distant future may be cancelled if we are not able to provide the necessary parts from our inventory. If this occurs, the customer will receive a refund for the pro-rated term of the contract.
Q6: Will I still be able to order 3rd party pads, batteries and other consumables for my LIFEPAK 12?
A6: Yes. There are several 3rd party manufacturers that produce and sell consumables for the LIFEPAK 12. DXE already offers them.
